Ningie has painted some of her country locatedsouth of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is known as Yula afterthe tjurrnu (soakwater) depicted as the circle in the painting. The manyparallel lines represent floodplains as well as the tali (sand hills) found inthis country. This is the country of Ningie’s youth.
