Leigh works across a range of media including carving, painting, ceramics and printmaking, however, these corrugated works are a new medium for him. Found on the outskirts of Aurukun, corrugated sheet iron litters the bush, a resource left over from the old mission days and stock yard industry. Leigh has masterfully re-purposed this material bypainting ceremonial clan designs on the surface of the sheet iron. The white dots come from the Apalech Clan and signify white seashells that can be seen through crystal clear water in the dry season.
